East of Vancouver, Canada is the University of the Fraser Valley. This is a public university for which approximately 15,000 students per year apply. They offer many diverse courses in small, structured classes to make sure the students have optimal contact with the teachers. In addition to the courses, they regularly organize public lectures where people can participate for free.

Public talk by Gerben van Straaten

On October 18, an exceptional lecture will be organized where Gerben van Straaten will give a presentation and participants will have the opportunity to ask him questions. The fundamentally different approach of World of Walas when it comes to sustainable urban development will be discussed. Not to be forgotten is the Earth Charter and the Earth Charter Cities Manifesto, which is written by Gerben himself. The work of World of Walas is driven by the values ​​and principles of the charter and therefore greatly influences our vision. Cities are the future of our earth and through the theme of the lecture: Mission Earth First, Gerben van Straaten will tell people about our work to apply innovative ways that enable cities to improve socially, economically and ecologically.
