World of Walas CISO, Dirk van der Ven, recently served as the Chairman for the Strategy and Governance stage during the 4th annual Nordic Smart Cities Conference in Malmo, Sweden. This was a great fit for Walas, and our approach to creating places where people want to live, work, produce and participate.
Between his duties introducing speakers and moderating panels, Dirk guided the audience on subject matter ranging from Global Goals for Sustainable Development & Smart City Standards to how to implement Communal Energy and Climate Policy with Success.
Philip Bell, co-owner of event hosting company Go-Konnect, was very impressed with Dirk and the Walas Way and hopes to engage our team for future opportunities.
Nordic Smart Cities is the leading regional event for smart and sustainable city development. It is a gathering of over 100 speakers and 500 attendees annually. The conference and expo have established themselves as a great opportunity. City leaders and administrators attend to listen, learn and discuss the future development of their cities and municipalities.
Many cities and regions across the Nordics have aggressive co2 reduction plans. Some of them plan to be carbon neutral by as early as 2025. This conference is a small part of the larger effort to mobilize innovators to reach these goals.
