Sheltersuit wins Public Award!

On Saturday the 28th of October, during the Dutch Design Week, the Dutch Design Awards were presented. With the most votes online and from the exhibition Sheltersuit became the winner of the Public Award!

Sheltersuit is based in Spinnerij. It is a waterproof and windproof jacket that can be transformed into a sleeping bag, to provide shelter against all kinds of weather. Each Sheltersuit is unique because they are made of donated materials of high quality. So far more than 1,200 suits have been distributed to people who need them most.

Sheltersuits is also creating jobs and opportunities for people in the community. Asylum seekers with a residence permit and other people with a distance to the labour market do much of the work. Shelter suit offers them an opportunity to integrate into Dutch society.

The DDA describes the sheltersuit as a strong product with a lot of goodwill, with which we totally agree. We would like to congratulate Sheltersuit on this well-deserved victory!
