Walas to Speak on Innovations at Buildex 2018

On February 14th – 15th 2018, World of Walas will be at Buildex Vancouver 2018 as part of our innovation pavilion to present our expertise in sustainable urban development and innovative building trends. Buildex Vancouver is Western Canada’s largest tradeshow and conference for the Construction, Renovation, Architecture, Interior Design and Property Management industries. With over 600 exhibits, and more than 80 educational seminars, Buildex attracts over 14,000 attendees annually.

As the City of Vancouver progresses in its goal to be the greenest city in the world, demand for sustainable products have risen with regulations and consumer demand for green buildings and building material. With the World of Walas’ long term relationship with European partners, a market which has experienced regulations and consumer demands for green building products ahead of Canada, our ability to act as an access-to-innovations platform has been recognized by the building industry at large through conferences such as Buildex.

Dirk van Der Ven, COO of World of Walas Europe, Wilco van Bemmel, COO of Walas Concepts Canada and Gerben van Straaten, CEO of World of Walas, will all be presenting best practices in gradual financing of green energy, building automation, big data for the digitization of cities and social inclusion. These practices will be connecting with Walas’ signature implementation of ethical, green, innovative and gradual urban development through our existing work . We will speak about the strategies and best practices for energy retrofitting old, dilapidated buildings through our experience with Carbon6 in Heerlen. In addition, we will be speaking about our project CarbonBlue, which highlights how Walas achieved success using signature creativity and a systems thinking approach . It will exemplify how we leveraged the use of a parking lot to create a comprehensive solar solution that also capture s rain water, cleans the surround ing air and water and is economically profitable.

Jan Westra, Strategic Business Developer, of Priva, a BlueWorxx and Dudoc Vancouver partner, will be speaking about building management systems and solutions to healthy and comfortable indoor climates. Jörg Jungedeitering and Alex ander Lenz of NUCE will examine how visual digital representations of actual buildings can help you manage building information better. Dutch VR, a BlueWorxx partner, will demonstrate howvirtual and augmented reality can give you the opportunity of visiting and experiencing places that are not physically built , including a tour of the Walas CarbonBlue project .
